The DIY Calculator

My project

Nothing on the list yet. Work out a quantity with a calculator, then press “Add to project”: the lines add up here, and stay in this browser.

Home improvement calculators

Work out what to buy for your next project — in bags, yards, tons, sheets and boards — and see how it fits before you cut or pour.

What every calculator gives you

  • The answer in the units stores sell. Bags, cubic yards and tons, not just a volume. A purchase always rounds up, and the exact figure stands beside it.
  • A drawing to scale. Your own dimensions, on a plan. If you measured the wrong side, you see it before you order.
  • The working. Every result opens on its formula with your numbers in it, and every default names its source. Change any of them: a supplier’s own figure beats ours.
  • One list for the whole job. Each calculator adds a line to your project. The list stays in your browser, prints on one page and copies into a message.

No sign-up, nothing to install

The calculators run in your browser and work on a phone in a store aisle. Your measurements stay on your device: a link carries them only when you share one.
